New ‘VIP Poker Room’ Recruits Top Pros Including Katchalov And Failla

Canadian land-based gambling destination ‘VIP Poker Room’ is set to open its doors for the first time on February 7th in Montreal. Ahead of its grand opening the poker room has announced the addition of four top poker pros to its newly formed ‘Pro Ambassador Team,’ which includes three US pros in the guise of Eugene Katchalov, Will “The Thrill” Failla and Ylon Schwartz, and Canadian pro Mike “GoLeafsGoEh” Leah.

Following news of the signings, VIP Poker Room owner MItchell Horne commented: “We’re excited about signing these fantastic pros as ambassadors to VIP. They are outstanding players and incredible people whom others enjoy playing poker with. Our pros will enhance players’ experiences when they come play poker at VIP.”

Will “The Thrill” Failla, 46, is an outgoing top pro with $3,780,278 in live tournament cashes to his name, including victory at the 2011 WPT Legends of Poker Main Event for over $758,085.

Eugene Katchalov, 32, cashed in at his first live tournament in 2004 and has since amassed a massive $7,299,032 in winnings, including a WSOP and a WPT title.

Next, Ylon Schwartz, 42, is a chess master turned professional poker who over the years has notched-up $4,637,716 in live tournament cashes including a WSOP bracelet at last year’s $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. event for $267,081. In addition, Schwartz is a prolific cash game player with over $2 million in profits playing online under the screen name “Tenth
Planet.”

Finally, Canada’s Mike “GoLeafsGoEh” Leah is one of the most talented players on the circuit today with $1,522,35 in live cashes to go with his $2,331,596 won playing tournaments online. Leah’s accomplishments have not gone unnoticed and he was recently recruited as a member of Team Ivey pro.

 

Next month when VIP Poker Room opens, in addition to having these notable members of ‘Pro Ambassador Team’ in attendance, various festivities will help celebrate the occasion, including a $100k guarantee tournament and a $5k buy-in Player’s Championship event.
