Only 17 players stand between Ylon Schwartz and his first WSOP bracelet
Only 17 players stand between Ylon Schwartz and his first WSOP bracelet. Schwartz finished Day 2 with 416,000 chips and the chip lead.
“I really just stayed pretty calm today. I didn’t get in a lot of dicey sitruations. HORSE is a game you have to manage the tournament very well,”said Schwartz, who has two third place finishes to his name, but no runner-up or bracelet finishes. “There was one leg I couldn’t do anything in, 32 hands I played only two hands. It’s good, I’m happy to be through this day. It’s been a long time, I’m having a rotten series. So maybe this will turn the Series around.”
Schwartz, who elimianted Tom Schneider as the day was winding down, is the only player above 400,000. Brandon Guss, Sanjay Pandya and Robby Rasmussen make up the group of players closest to Schwartz and all are above 300,000. Also still in contention is Allen Cunningham. The five-time bracelet winner finished with 131,000 and a shot at winning his first bracelet since 2007.
Online poker legend Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy finished with 129,000.
Joining Schneider on the outside looking in are David Williams, Dan Idema, Yuval Brohnstein and Huck Seed.
