Trickett, Moorman Headline 2012 British Poker Awards Nominations
The nominations for the 2012 British Poker Awards have been announced and PokerListings.com has secured a spot on the judging panel.
In its third consecutive year, the British Poker Awards shine the spotlight on the year’s best poker players, events and websites from the UK.
Brought to you by Bluff Europe, the awards ceremony is set to go off September 17 aboard the yacht H.M.S. President.
Headlining the list of categories are honors for Player of the Year and Best International Player, both of which will be decided by the panel of judges that includes Jesse May, Bluff Europe, PokerListings.com, PokerNews.com and PokerStrategy.com.
Additionally, fans have the chance to vote on 11 other categories that cover everything from the best tournament player to the best casino restaurant in the UK.
Just head to the British Poker Awards website to cast your vote.
And finally, professional poker players will vote on the best card room, the best card room manager and the best tournament director.
This year Cody is nowhere to be found on the nominations, but a few other big names stand out.
Judging my winnings alone Sam Trickett stands head and shoulders above all Brits this past year.
Trickett placed second in the world’s first $1 million buy-in tournament at the World Series of Poker this summer, winning $10.1 million. To date Trickett has earned over $16.4 million playing live poker tournaments.
Chris Moorman, Neil Channing, Vicky Coren and Chris Brammer also find themselves nominated in more than one category.
Other awards categories include a category for the individual who has contributed most to growing and promoting the game of poker, the best card-room bar and the best UK poker tournament.
